I painted this one about 3 weeks ago. I had been doing some rose studys in preperation for a piece that I was planning on doing, and one day I went into my friends studio, where I work on occasion, and found a still life that I had painted from a few days previous with this forgotten rose, now dead. I liked what I saw, so I painted it.

Oils on gessoed board.

I love your use of textures. I wish you had used more of it here. I keep wanting to see more colors and textures, maybe around the vase...

Speaking of colors, I really like how the colors are always changing. I love blending, it's almost like a personal fascination of mine
